John Barrymore

Eight years after the play reached print,a film of MLR 's An American Citizen premiered. John Barrymore played the role of Beresford Cruger: this was his film debut.

In 1930 this novel was made into a film directed by Alan Crosland and starring John Barrymore . Several other novels by MB were also filmed.

The film was directed by George Cuckor , and starred John Barrymore , Billie Burke , and Katharine Hepburn .
