was a poet of ideas who wrote during the mid to late nineteenth century, developing in her work both her feminist views about reforming social attitudes, and, later, her religious faith as she became an apologist for Catholicism. She published three collections of poetry and close to ten religious books, and also edited and translated numerous works.
